Northern Lights Log Cabins
Lyth Wick (10 Miles)
Caithness
Offering one of the best locations to see the Northern Lights, these stylish modern Log Cabins enjoy fantastic location to relax and explore the Northern Highlands.
Enjoy sociable nights cooking in your own private BBQ hut with local produce. One of the best locations in the UK to spot the Northern Lights. This stylish lodge offers a fantastic opportunity as a base to explore the local regions and towns of Thurso and Wick (both within 12 miles). John O’Groats is just 11 miles away, where you can take that mandatory photo at the sign. There are many miles of coastline with little gems including villages and harbours along it. The endless beach at Sinclair’s Bay (6 miles) is very popular as is the adjacent Wick Golf Club with its sandy links. Surfers can be seen on the waves here, but Scotland’s surfing mecca must be at Thurso East Bay with its occasional 30ft waves. The most northerly inhabited castle, the Castle of Mey is only 10 miles away and is open to the public with a cafe and gardens; this has been the summer residence of King Charles and the Queen Consort for a few weeks of the summer for many years.
The lodge is accessed via wrap-around patio decking and a glass entrance door that takes you into the wonderful stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge area is the perfect place to relax with a book on the comfortable sofa (which is a sofa bed) or there is a TV and a DVD player for watching a movie. The light floods through the windows of the south-facing property offering beautiful countryside views. The dining area consists of a table for four people and the kitchen is well equipped, yet compact and contains everything you could need during your stay. The king-size bedroom is integrated into the open-plan living area which has been tastefully furnished and decorated. There is also an additional twin bedroom. Completing the property is a shower room.
Outside, the decked garden area contains garden furniture where you can enjoy your morning coffee and breathe in the fresh air with the farm animals for company. There are two pet sheep called Chico and Sylvie who live close to the lodge; they are very friendly and love to say hello. The very spacious BBQ hut for your own private use is located adjacent to the lodge.
Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
